Subject: Avant-Garde/Minimalistic Perfection
Not too many Avant-Garde/Minimalist composers are able to create a piece that is as musically interesting as it is technically interesting. I've always enjoyed minimalistic compositional style but much of the music created in that vein is quite challenging to listen to. Michael Sandler's work here is most definitely in the Steve Reich-esque minimalist style but this release is very listenable on a musical level as well. The loop points are short, and the pieces are ever shifting, never staying in one spot long enough for you to grow tired of the sound. The production and execution is flawless, and the end result is a minimalistic release that I've heard several times already and am yet to get tired of it. Great work Michael.
